Size 10# and 20-24# blades are used to cut through skin, subcutaneous, muscle, periosteum and other tissues.

Size 11# blade is used to cut through blood vessels, nerves, gastrointestinal tract and heart tissue.

Size 12# blade is used for knee and facial surgery.

Size 15# blade is used for deep tissue and tissue cutting in ophthalmology and coronary artery bypass grafting.
